After considerable work and dedication of the City employees, Grimshaw Drilling, and the Enoch City residents, the damaged well is close to being placed back into service.
After the pump is reinstalled and the water testing comes back clean, we will be asking the residents to be very cautious with outdoor irrigation. At the right time, we will be asking you to irrigate at night when it is coolest and evaporation is reduced. We will also be asking you to irrigate sparingly by reducing your irrigation time per valve by 50%. Other methods and times may be requested after further considerations. The feedback from you has been generous and extremely helpful. Many have completely curtailed their outside irrigation of established lawns at our request. The LDS churches on the culinary system, the Enoch Elementary school, and the Enoch City parks have turned off their normal watering schedule. Some residents have not been connected to any of our communication channels and have been helped by their neighbors. One resident has offered to coach neighbors on proper irrigation techniques for more drought resistant lawns. We live in a good, safe place because many choose to help each other.
